How to Make 2015 Your Best Year Ever
#4 – What’s In Front of You?
Okay, I’m not the most organized person in the world, but I do try. One of the things that I’m finding is that if I’ll take a look ahead at what’s in front of me it helps me to navigate the daily challenges a lot better.
Life’s coming at us at warp speed. For me with family (and a big one at that; 5 kids all grown, 7 grandkids and my folks who are in their 80’s ….and nearly all within 5 miles of me), and family activities like sports, dance recitals, etc., the church and all that entails; oh, yeah, and all the unexpected things that are a fairly regular part of my life I need to have some kind of awareness of what’s out there in front of me. It doesn’t take a lot of time to look out there but it’s extremely productive for me. When I do that it helps me to get a lot of the things I know I have to do in proper order. It helps with that urgent vs important issue that we talked about a day or two ago!
On the other side of this issue, not looking ahead is like driving in the fog. Visibility is limited, you can’t afford to get distracted or the drive can get dangerous in a hurry. The further you can see, the better off you’ll be….and in this case….a lot more productive.
In the long run it can be a huge stress reliever/time-saver and it can keep us from being in crisis mode all the time.
……Next – Refocus! “Set Some Goals!”
Seems easy but I stay in the fog right now. It’s hard to see ahead or plan ahead when your not sure anymore what’s urgent or important because to me it’s the same in my life at this moment. I’ll work on this
Agreed! I’m working on it too!
Great bloog you have here
